my.pictures, my.videos, my.
So when I registered william-rawls.info I decided to use the sub domains (like about.william-rawls.info) to help gather all the pieces of me scattered and recorded across the internet into one place using a common naming scheme along with the my.* nomenclature.
For instance. This blog is where I'm going to describe over time the various things connected to my.info like my.pictures and my.videos. This blog is all about my.info online so it gets the about sub domain assigned (about.william-rawls.info).
Likewise, I like most people take some pictures and post them places. my.pictures means I've got an easy to remember web address pointing at my preferred site for storing pictures (flickr in my case). You don't have to know my user name or even what site I prefer or even that in a year something better is going to come along and I'm gonna switch over to it. All you have to remember is to go to pictures.william-rawls.info to see my.pictures. I'd do the same to go to your.pictures.
That's the basic idea. Picking key words for the major areas of my.life and assigning them sub domains on my.info, describing them in this blog and bringing an easy for humans to remember way to keep up with everything while everything is still figuring out how to keep up with itself...
So if you wanted to see my.videos, you'd go to videos.william-rawls.info. If I wanted to see your.videos... well, more on that later, but anybody can do this sort of thing.
I'll catalog all the words I've set up (not too many yet, still discovering them). But for now you can use my.info page to find out more about me and all the social networks I'm a part of. You can check out my.music or if you have a mind to even become one of my.connections... Maybe even explore some of my.thoughts or read my.resume...
Isn't is simple, sweet, and to the point?
What's funny, is that the naming system is simple for people, but should easily increase one's standings in the search engines and generate more traffic all the way around your.info and it's sites because of the nature of how search engines catalog, categorize, and present information to us...

my.info online
I'm rededicating this blog to talking about my.info site, william-rawls.info and the many places it attempts to aggregate and keep track of. Call it the user's manual to my.info
What's my.info? It's when a person like me registers an .info domain in their name, (in my case william-rawls.info) and uses a service like namecheap to bind all the various places that person uses or finds useful along with all the information they've written and found themselves... A personal lexicon or maybe my.wiki, my.way but one that spans the internet and that over time gathers an ever increasing, automated, seemingly real-time view of that person's life...
What does a person call other people's my.info sites?
Why your.info of course, or maybe their.info if it's a group of info sites.
I hope the idea catches on. This is meant for you. Start building your.info site today. You already have, it's just not all in one place yet...

HBO: Deputy Commissioner William Rawls played by John Doman: The Wire - Cast and Crew
HBO: Deputy Commissioner William Rawls played by John Doman: The Wire - Cast and Crew: " Recently promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Rawls has always been a career-focused police officer. When he commanded the Homicide Unit as a Colonel his major focus was his own unit's case-clearance record. Rawls was as ruthless toward criminals as he was to his cops, and now to the district commanders that he oversees. "
Ok... It's weird having a TV character named the same as me... Still, at least he's a good guy :)
